30 Days writing challenge, Poetry

Day Three – It’s always money

Honey, love doesn’t pay your bills
Neither do your emotions
Nor do your dreams.
As opposed to the popular norms, bank accounts are respected for being obese
And highly disregarded for maintaining a zero figure
And one cannot deny
That c’est bon to be dining at a fine restaurant
Dressed in a fine clothing
At an exotic destination
And buying loved ones a few expensive gifts.
Neither can you truly refute that
It isn’t your satisfaction
Or your peace
Or your genuine smile
That’s equivalent to success –
It’s always the money.
And why not?
For it doesn’t make sense to be happy and poor.
But to be depressed and rich somehow does.
